On November 8th, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation between Xueersi Dawayuwen, a brand under TAL Education Group, and the Chinese Department of Peking University was held at Peking University. In the future, from the joint training of Chinese language teachers to the writing and approval of Chinese language teaching materials, from exciting Dawayuwen classes to practical activities deeply integrated with Peking University campus, young people across the country will have the opportunity to experience the course content of Dawayuwen with the "Peking University Chinese Department" gene.
This strategic cooperation also marks that the development of Chinese language education in the K12 field will establish a more standardized, scientific, and systematic teaching model under the support of academic resources from universities.
The signing ceremony was attended by Professor Chen Xiaoming, director of the Chinese Department of Peking University and a Changjiang Scholar, Professor Jin Yongbing, party secretary of the Chinese Department of Peking University, Professor Zhang Hui and Professor Du Xiaoqin, deputy directors of the Chinese Department of Peking University, Liu Kai, vice president of Xueersi, and Li Lin, person in charge of Xueersi Dawayuwen. They shared insights on the current new trends in Chinese language education and the strategic cooperation plan.

The Chinese Department of Peking University has been established for 106 years and is the most prestigious Chinese language and literature department in China. Figures such as Yan Fu, Lu Xun, Shen Congwen, and Lin Geng have all taught here, and today it is led by renowned scholars such as Chen Pingyuan and Cao Wenxuan. With its long history and profound academic heritage, the Chinese Department of Peking University pays great attention to Chinese language education for young people. As early as 2004, Peking University established the Institute of Chinese Language Education, dedicated to research on Chinese language teaching materials and teaching. It has now become an important stronghold for the reform of Chinese language teaching.

On the day of the event, the Applied Research Center of Dawayuwen set up by Xueersi, a subsidiary of TAL Education Group, was formally established, and the Chinese Department of Peking University will provide solid academic support to the center. As a representative, Professor Sun Yuwen, a professor and doctoral supervisor from the Chinese Department of Peking University, was appointed as an academic consultant to the Applied Research Center of Xueersi Dawayuwen.
In the future, more professors from the Chinese Department of Peking University will enter the Dawayuwen classroom to bring more exciting "Master Humanities Courses" to the students in the form of lectures. Professors from the Chinese Department of Peking University will also work with the teaching and research team of Xueersi on topics in Chinese language teaching and writing and review of teaching materials, ensuring that every Dawayuwen class meets the "Peking University" standards and benefits more young people.
Frontline teachers enter Peking University for further study, building a strong teaching team
As a matter of fact, the roots of the teaching team of Xueersi Dawayuwen and the Chinese Department of Peking University go back a long way. Many leaders and lecturers in the Dawayuwen discipline were once students of the Chinese Department of Peking University, with solid foundations and frontline teaching experience, receiving high praise from students and parents. In August of this year, more than 30 Xueersi Chinese language teachers applied to participate in a short-term study program hosted by the Chinese Department of Peking University to further enhance their teaching expertise. According to the strategic cooperation plan, Xueersi will invite more frontline teachers to enter Peking University and attend teacher training courses jointly designed by both sides, learning about the latest research trends in Chinese language teaching and Chinese academic fields from expert scholars to promote continuous updates to the content and teaching methods of Chinese language teaching.
