On December 2nd, the Beijing Qinxi Yuanshan Public Welfare Foundation held a thank-you dinner with the theme "Qinxi Yuanshan: Walking with Love 2018". More than 100 public welfare enthusiasts gathered to discuss rural education public welfare.

Mr. Tang Min, a member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and vice chairman of the Youcheng Entrepreneur Poverty Alleviation Foundation, delivered a speech at the dinner. He shared the current situation of rural education, "Due to regional differences and uneven economic development, the development of rural education is relatively lagging behind. Rural areas are unable to retain excellent teachers, and high-quality educational resources are also difficult to reach. In response to this situation, the emergence of internet dual-teacher teaching is very necessary. With everyone's joint efforts, the development of rural education will definitely get better and the educational resources between urban and rural areas will become more balanced, and genuine educational equity is hoped to be achieved soon."

Running a good education is the greatest public welfare, and more and more people realize this. The thank-you dinner invited two special guests, rural teachers who silently dedicate themselves to education. One is Mr. Guo Shisheng from Gaoshizhong School in Qingshuihe County, Inner Mongolia, and the other is Ms. Hu Jinyan from Xiaojiaqiao School in Yuanling County, Hunan Province. Mr. Guo said, "There were difficulties in the process of operating the dual-teacher classroom in high school, but the course was not stopped because he could feel the students' enthusiasm and passion for learning from their eyes and actions. He shared his insights into dual-teacher classroom management: interactive teaching is two-way, and the cooperation of offline teachers is very important. In fact, there are many rural teachers like them; they are the backbone of Chinese education.

To express gratitude to the public welfare enthusiasts who have actively participated in rural education activities, the dinner also displayed drawings made by children from impoverished areas. Although the brushstrokes of the paintings were naive, the emotions were sincere. Subsequently, a charity event was held.

Plum blossoms are as small as rice, but they compete with peonies in bloom. Compared to urban children, although children in mountain villages have limited resources, their eagerness to step out of the mountains through learning, and their pure desire to change their destiny through knowledge, is so urgent and sincere. The Yuanshan Public Welfare Foundation in Beijing was established in November 2017, jointly initiated and funded with 100 million yuan by New Oriental and Koolearn.
