Former US Secretary of Education serves as the international academic advisor for Xueersi, enhancing research and teaching capabilities through three collaborations.

On December 5th, 2018, the "Future Education Conference at GES2018, the "International and Lifelong Education Forum" was held in Beijing. At the forum, Xueersi International under Good Future Education announced the establishment of the Academic Advisory Committee and appointed the former U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, former Yale President Rick Levin, and the Dean of the Stanford Graduate School of Education, Dan Schwartz, as advisors. In addition, Xueersi International also jointly released a customized Keynote series textbook with National Geographic Learning, and obtained the authorization to host the ETS TOEFL ITP examination center. These three international collaborations have helped Xueersi International to comprehensively enhance the comprehensive abilities of students in education philosophy, textbook development, and assessment system, cultivating international talents for the world.

Collaboration with authorities to introduce global advanced educational concepts

As the first batch of consultants of the Academic Advisory Committee for Xueersi International, Arne Duncan, Rick Levin, and Dan Schwartz are all authoritative experts in the international education field. Arne Duncan previously served as the ninth U.S. Secretary of Education and actively promoted education reform in the United States. After leaving office, he has been focusing on the development of education in China. During Rick Levin's tenure at Yale, he promoted over 100 collaborative education research projects with China. Dan Schwartz has long been dedicated to research on innovative learning methods and teaching assessment. In the future, these three education leaders will connect with global resources of Xueersi International to explore the core qualities needed for future international talents.

In the future, more expert members will join us to help Chinese children grow into more outstanding international talents."

Connecting international resources to help children gain future capabilities

At this forum, Xueersi International and National Geographic Learning jointly released the Keynote textbooks customized for Chinese students. It is understood that the Keynote series textbooks use TED speeches as the basic material, aiming to allow children to experience diverse world cultures, cultivate critical thinking skills while comprehensively improving their English language abilities. The textbooks have previously won the 2016 ELTON Outstanding Curriculum Innovation Award, and the International English Speaking Union (ESU) Teaching Resources Award, receiving high praise in the international English learning community.

Collision of cutting-edge viewpoints to jointly explore the core competencies of international talents

As an important part of this forum, roundtable discussions were held around the core capabilities of international talent development with prominent guests such as Arne Duncan, Janet Godwin, the Chief Operations Officer of ACT, David Williamson, the Vice President of New Product Development at ETS, Chen Dinghong, the Chief Investment Officer of the Good Future Education Group in the United States, and Luo Rong, the President and CFO of the International and Lifelong Education Division of the Good Future Education Group.

"How to cultivate the core competencies of international talents" roundtable forum discussion

As the host of the roundtable discussion, Chen Dinghong stated that the future is a rapidly changing and diversified era, and our education should not only be centered on the present but also be focused on the future.

What are the key abilities for the future growth of children? Arne Duncan believes that every country has its own education system, and the habits and ways of thinking that children develop in their early years are very important. The crucial abilities for children's future growth are sympathy, nurturing an awareness of helping others, and resilience, facing mistakes squarely and learning lessons from failure.

David Williamson believes that globalization means that all countries in the world are interdependent and interconnected. For the global citizens of the globalization era, they must realize that their welfare is intertwined with the rest of the world. Education should not only impart knowledge but also teach children how to learn. Janet Godwin agrees with this, stating, "In the future, it is more important to have an open mind and view the world with openness, learn from others, and even learn from ourselves, maintaining curiosity and openness."

With the advancement of globalization, internationalization will be the main direction for the development of talent in the future. As an important stronghold of Good Future Education in the field of studying abroad and international education, the International and Lifelong Education Division of the Good Future Education Group has been actively connecting and expanding high-quality educational resources through international cooperation. Good Future hopes to continuously help Chinese students enhance their international perspective, cultivate comprehensive abilities and qualities, and move towards a broader international stage.
