2019 Koolearn's New Year Conference, what exciting points did CEO Zhang share?

On February 28, 2019, the opening ceremony of 100tal's 2019 was held in Beijing. The founder and CEO, Zhang Bangxin, delivered a work report and reflected on the past while planning for the future.

Selected viewpoints:

1. Reducing students' heavy academic burden is not only the responsibility of public schools, but also of private education institutions. How to reduce students' heavy workload, shape their knowledge structure, and improve their learning efficiency? Wang Zuoshu, president of the China Private Education Association, pointed out that it is necessary to start from three aspects: first, cultivate students' love for learning and stimulate their interest in learning; second, teach students how to learn, and instruct them in learning methods; third, train students to think and develop their thinking methods.

2. 100tal adheres to its mission and is unwavering in using technology to promote educational progress. By using advanced concepts and technologies from around the world, we aim to drive innovation and progress in educational products, enabling everyone to have access to fair and quality education and achieve their life dreams.

3. Each employee at 100tal receives three "salaries": compensation, growth, and a sense of achievement. In addition to money, employees should have the opportunity to acquire knowledge, make progress, and feel a sense of achievement.

4. The direction of 100tal's business development is gradually shifting from covering high-income families to covering middle- and low-income families, and from high-achieving students to covering average and underachieving students.

5. The diversification and decentralization of 100tal's business is a major trend. We will make efforts in various areas such as online and offline, test-oriented and quality-oriented education, self-operated and empowered education, extracurricular and intraschool education, and domestic and international education.

6. 100tal's online education has already seen some initial results, but the road ahead remains long, and the complexity and difficulty will exceed imagination.

7. There are no shortcuts in the field of education. Do not focus on short-term gains and losses. Every detour is not in vain. We must be grounded, take solid steps, and leave footprints one by one in order to survive.

8. Over the next three years, 100tal will focus on three things: first, providing high-quality, low-cost courses and content to serve a wider social group; second, developing the ability to personalize teaching based on individual characteristics; and third, redefining 100tal.

9. 100tal is addressing the main contradictions in education through three measures: First, the mass delivery of high-quality content and services; second, personalized teaching based on user data and profiles; third, learning progress based on the premise of physical and mental health and capability improvement.

10. 100tal aims to become synonymous with "capability improvement." The goal is to develop students' learning progress on the basis of physical and mental health and capability improvement. The focus is not only on teaching children knowledge, but more importantly on cultivating lifelong skills.

11. 100tal is committed to nurturing individuals who possess comprehensive development in morality, intelligence, physical fitness, beauty, and labor. Morality includes Chinese and English; intelligence includes mathematics, physics, chess, etc.; physical fitness includes physical training for a healthy body; beauty includes online art, etc.; labor includes STEM, science and technology, engineering, etc. This will be 100tal's long-term product line.

12. In the next 7 years, 100tal aims to transition from a training institution to an educational institution; from a brick-and-mortar company to a technology service company; from a domestic company to become a global company; and from an operation-based company to a data-driven science and education company.
