On April 29th, the 5G Smart Education Cooperation Alliance initiated by China Mobile was successfully held in Hangzhou. The theme of the conference was "Enjoying Education, Creating the Future". 100tal (TAL Education Group) participated in this event as the vice-chairman unit.

The first batch of members of the 5G Smart Education Cooperation Alliance includes 40 communication, Internet, education, and other enterprises, institutions, universities, and research institutions, such as 100tal, the Smart Teaching Research Institute of Beijing Normal University, Huawei, iFlytek, NetDragon, Dell, and Topview.

Professor Wang Zhuzhu, former director of the Central Radio and Television University, said in her speech that the development of "Internet + Education" is a national strategy and an aspiration of the people. As a pioneer in the 5G industry, China Mobile will empower the education industry with cutting-edge technologies such as comprehensive big data, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing, to accelerate the development of "Internet +" and promote the modernization and equity of education.

The first chairman of the alliance, and vice president of China Mobile Enterprise Customer Division, Fang Li, said that as a leader in the development of 5G, China Mobile insists on implementing the "Big Connectivity" strategy. Through a variety of colorful vertical industry applications, it actively builds a 5G ecosystem and proposes a collaborative approach of "allowing industry partners to create products, allowing partners who contact customers to gain added value, allowing platforms to assist in product sales, and allowing resources to help enterprises take off". Through this alliance, member units complement each other's strengths to jointly build a collaboration system for smart education in the 5G era, covering "teaching", "learning", "production", "research", and "investment".

China Mobile also released the "5G+ Smart Education White Paper" and signed a memorandum of cooperation with 35 partners. Professor Huang Ronghuai, Director of the National Engineering Laboratory for Internet Education Intelligent Technology and Application at Beijing Normal University, gave a special lecture on using "5G+" as a means to develop smart education and promote education equity. Wang Mian, Vice President of 100tal, Lin Hao, Global Vice President of Dell Technologies, and Xiong Li, CEO of NetDragon, each delivered a thematic speech on behalf of their respective companies. They all expressed their determination to seize the opportunity, embrace the arrival of the 5G era, and use their respective advantages and resources to empower the education industry.

The 5G Smart Education Cooperation Alliance is a cross-industry, open, non-profit joint body, focusing on collaborative communication, resource sharing, and collaborative innovation. Its main tasks include the formulation of technical standards, public relations for key technologies, business demonstration and promotion, and academic exchange and cooperation. In 2019, it will release a white paper, establish domestic and industry standards for 5G smart education, and set up 3 resource pools for the alliance, including a resource library, a product library, and an industry case library. At the same time, it will establish a series of online and offline communication platforms and a number of innovation and entrepreneurship bases.
